Great men often are like great trees, in reaching for the sky they climb ever higher, paying no heed to the comforting shade they provide below.
lies
He who is wise, is he who has surrendered himself to the eternal truths rather than fallen at the feet of the lies of our times.
It is liars that tend to be the loudest, for their words must reach the back of rooms. Honest men in my experience by nature are quiet, for their words need not concern itself with the size of venues, the power of their words of an honest man come not from the volume of which they are spoken but from truth.Where falsehoods are limited by acoustics, the truth however, can be heard across centuries even as whispers.
We live in the age of information, an era that will not see its conflicts play out on battlefields, but rather waged within the minds of humanity. The clash of not civilizations but of ideologies. As in times past humanity armed itself with swords to dispatch tyranny, humanity once again will have to arm itself, not with blades but with the truth. When dispelling falsehoods while swords cut, the truth cuts deeper.
Such is the inescapable nature of truth, it is like traveling in a circle, in running from away from it one is also simultaneously running towards it once again. The nature of the journey never changes, just the man making it.
People wonder why Hollywood is plagued with depression, some think the fame makes them depressed. I don’t think that’s the case, rather depressed people just happen to make fantastic actors. Being forced to play the role of “everything is alright”, its a role no one wants, but must be played believably for years day in and day out for the comfort of others. For a time they to believe that they are alright, however like any role it is mere illusion, it is not real no matter how desperately they wish it be true.
