They call our generations the millennials, being the first generation to not grow up under the shadow of the cold war, we were promised a better world than our parents. The better world never came about, instead of we live in under the darkness of Global Terrorism. We are the generation that paid a lot more for the opportunity to study hard for jobs that no longer offer a chance for a secure future. Live and labour in the hopes of own houses that are made increasingly unaffordable and unattainable. Paying rent to pay off other generations mortgages, instead of paying our own. Forced to run in a race to the bottom, yet contend with be told we have it “easy”. We were the generation that was supposed to have made this world a better place, yet we are the generation that struggles better ourselves. We are the generation that promised so much yet received little, we are the generation of broken promises.
“Upon your death if you leave your money and property in a generation it will be squandered, reduced to nothing. Leave this world knowledge and enlightenment, you left the world a limitless bank account from which all of mankind can withdraw from.”
