Inspiration is the mere act of casting a light into the darkness of another mans soul to allowing him to witness what he already unknowingly possessed.
A miner and a writer are no different in many respects, journeying into the deep dark depths of the earth, the other of his soul. Both searching to bring something back from darkness to light.
People often hear the phrase home is where the heart is, yet people often forget the heart is not so much unlike a home. A home can have many guests who occupy it for a time, like all guests they must eventually take their leave. Yet the one who stays the owner, didn’t do so by theft, for one cannot lift and steal a home nor they can steal a heart as people are apt to say; no they are simply came back to what always to belonged to them, they simply came home. In occupying a heart as a home, they bring warmth and light where once darkness and coldness existed in emptiness.
Inspiring people do not insert new ideas or feelings in others. The secret to their gift lies in their words and actions, their supernatural ability to cast light into the dark recesses mankind’s minds and hearts allowing to people to bare witness the truths that were already within them but not readily seen.
While I am glad I sit in Canada far removed from the Charlottesville protests, one cannot help but look at whats happening. I can sympathize with the white supremacists to a certain extent. I understand times are changing things, things you have enjoyed are being taken away, it would be terrifying no doubt. The sympathy I extend is the same the same sympathy I extend to a child’s terror when a light in a room suddenly shuts off, where it was on. It is your fear, your lack of education or lack of knowledge that provokes my sympathy, not your cause. Yet I find the protest silly, the ideals of equality, tolerance and diversity scare them so much, that it takes so much away from them. Their anger is misdirected why blame the treatment? Blame the disease of racism that requires such a bitter and harsh treatment, if so much was not given earlier on that was not yours to take, not so much would need be given back now. If the attempting to end racism is so brutal bloody then so to was bloody and brutal the process of its unchecked growth on humanity.
Were it not for the darkness of night we would not know the stars, were it not for the occasional darkness in our lives we would not know our friends.
They say the future is bright, were it so then why cannot the average man see it? For it is not. It is dark, it conceals its own nature. What is bright however is the minds of men, who have enlightened themselves with knowledge and wisdom. To possess the ability to cast the light of their minds into that darkness, and bear witness what resides.
